And to finish off with LGBT Health Week`s theme of emphasizing the VITAL role of VIBRANT and diverse VOICES in raising awareness about the health challenges. We ask with Clinic Nurse, Ruby Trevino (She/Her) How do you use your voice to help LGBTQ Clients through the Clinic? “My goal is to ensure the LGBTQ population we serve, feels comfortable with their health care team by providing education for their medical concerns. I assist with HRT therapies and stress the importance of wellness exams. I am their advocate and make sure their voices are heard when no one else will.

Raising awareness about the health challenges for the LGBTQ+ community we ask Pride Center Coordinator, Orlando Narvaez (He/Him) on how he uses his voice. "Being a Latinx gay man, I aim to amplify the voices within our LGBTQIA+ community and work towards dismantling the stigma surrounding healthcare. Many individuals have faced adversity, but I strive to emphasize that one negative encounter should not hinder them from seeking proper healthcare. Fortunately, the Pride Center offers a range of resources and LGBTQ+ friendly safe space where individuals can seek services."

VITAL role of VIBRANT and diverse VOICES in raising awareness about the health challenges.  Outreach Specialist Zoila Rosales (She/Her), "My identity and voice as a queer person helps put my lgbtq+ clients at ease in a setting which is otherwise intimidating and overwhelming. By providing a safe space to my clients, I`m helping those in my community who need access to HIV/STI Testing, Treatment/Care, and PrEP/PEP services."

We’re continuing with LGBTQ Health Week’s theme of emphasizing the VITAL role of VIBRANT and diverse VOICES in raising awareness about the health challenges. We check-in with Ryan White Case Manager, Wayne VanZandt (He/Him) How do you use your voice to help LGBTQ Clients through Client Services? "I believe in the power of sharing your story. Letting someone know that you understand what they are going through is an important part of developing a relationship and assisting in empowering our clients. For me, being an advocate for the client is the most important thing; to raise their awareness and let them know that they have someone that will be there for them is one of the most impactful things I can do."
